Dr Mathew John is working as a Honorary General Surgeon at Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital since August 2006. On completion of his post-graduation, Dr. Mathew John worked as a Lecturer in General Surgery, at Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, for a period of 5 years, where he underwent further training in Laparoscopic and Endoscopic procedures. He was then promoted as an Associate Professor and Unit Head in General Surgery at GMCA.
Dr Mathew John has performed many thousands of General & Gastrointestinal procedures from simple to complex surgeries such as Groin and Parietal hernia repairs, Biopsies, Appendectomies, Hemicolectomies, Rectopexies, Resection and anastomotic intestinal surgeries, Thyroidectomies and perianal surgeries. He has also successfully managed numerous cass of traumatic injuries.
He has published article such as Case report on "Perforation in an Ileal Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue (MALT) Lymphoma." Bombay Hospital Journal, Volume 45, Number 3, 2003 & Case report on "Mesenteric Desmoid Tumour" Bombay Hospital Journal, Volume 47, Number 1, 2005. He has a keen interest in the field of Gastrointestinal ailments and their management and keeps himself regularly updated by attending various national and international conferences as well as referring to numerous journals and research works.
