Dr Sanjeev yashwant vichare is working as a visiting consultant cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon with Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital Powai, Mumbai. He is keenly interested in providing the best possible outcome in routine cardiac surgery, including coronary artery bypass and Valve Replacement operations. Additionally, his special interest lies in coronary artery surgery in patients with globally ischaemic ventricles, mitral valve repair especially in context with myxomatous mitral valve disease & heart failure, aortic root & aortic arch surgery, and redo cardiac interventions.
He is trained in cardiothoracic surgery for nearly six years from university college london hospitals NHS foundation trust, London, UK. There he had an opportunity to work with renowned stalwarts such as Prof Sir Magdi yacoub and professor sir bruce keogh. After completion of training, passed prestigious FRCS (Cardiothoracic Surgery) examination from royal college of surgeons of edinburgh (now over 500 years old institute) in 2008. After extensive training in cardiothoracic surgery in UK, returned to India. currently, practicing as independent cardiac surgeon for seven and half years.
Performed over 1875 open heart operations. Many of these operations were very complex cardiac surgeries, with very low mortality and morbidity. He regularly attends national and international conferences as faculty.
