He specializes in Gastrointestinal, Hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB), Thoracic, Breast, Head & Neck, and Gynecological Oncology. Having trained at renowned institutions including Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, and Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore, he is recognized for his expertise in advanced cancer surgery, minimally invasive procedures, and robotic surgery. He has successfully performed over 2,000 complex cancer surgeries and remains committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centric cancer care.
Dr. Tanveer specializes in the comprehensive surgical management of a wide spectrum of cancers, with key areas of expertise including Gastrointestinal Cancer Surgery, Hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) Oncology involving cancers of the liver, pancreas, and bile ducts, and Thoracic Oncology for the treatment of lung and other chest malignancies. His clinical practice includes advanced gastrointestinal cancer surgeries, liver resections, and hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) cancer surgery for malignancies involving the liver, pancreas, and bile ducts. He is highly experienced in the surgical management of esophageal and gastric cancers, as well as lung and mediastinal tumors, delivering comprehensive care using evidence-based surgical approaches. He is proficient in performing complex pancreatic and bile duct cancer procedures, minimally invasive thoracic surgeries, and robotic-assisted cancer surgeries that enhance surgical precision and facilitate faster patient recovery. His expertise also extends to cytoreductive surgery combined with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) and Normothermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (NIPEC) for selected advanced abdominal cancers. Dr. Tanveer has an exceptional academic background and has received advanced training in surgical oncology from some of the most renowned institutions in India and abroad. He completed his DNB in Surgical Oncology from the National Board, New Delhi, and underwent rigorous residency training in Surgical Oncology at the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. To further strengthen his expertise in complex cancer care, he pursued a Fellowship in Hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) Surgery and Liver Transplantation in Singapore, followed by a Fellowship in Thoracic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery. He also holds an MS in General Surgery from Mumbai University and a DNB in General Surgery from the National Board, New Delhi. In recognition of his surgical proficiency and commitment to international standards of excellence, he earned the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS), Edinburgh, UK. He completed his MBBS from Karnataka University, Dharwad, and has received specialized training in robotic surgery using the Versius Robotic Surgical System, enabling him to deliver advanced, precision-driven, and minimally invasive surgical care. Over the course of his career, he has successfully performed more than 2,000 complex cancer surgeries, demonstrating proficiency in advanced oncological procedures across multiple specialties. He previously served as a Specialist Registrar in Surgical Oncology at the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, where he gained extensive experience in managing challenging oncological cases. Further advancing his clinical expertise, Dr. Tanveer completed a Fellowship in Hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) Surgery and Liver Transplantation in Singapore. He has served as a Consultant Surgical Oncologist at several leading cancer centres and multispecialty hospitals across India, contributing to the delivery of comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Tanveer is actively involved in academic and professional training as a faculty member for advanced thoracoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, and surgical oncology programs.
