World Hand Hygiene Day Celebration
Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital celebrated the World Hand Hygiene Day on the 5th May 2023 with lots of enthusiasm and participation. The staff created posters on the theme of hand hygiene which were kept for public display and judged by a team of senior jury. The top three posters were selected and their creators awarded.
Hand hygiene effectiveness was audited on spot using an UV equipment by our infection control team which went on rounds across departments. Those who were found doing effective hand hygiene were rewarded.
Later in the afternoon, a program to commemorate the occasion was held with Dr Archana Chitnis, Infection Control Officer, delivering a lecture on the significance of hand hygiene and measures taken to improve the adherence among the healthcare workers. An enticing quiz was held, which was hotly contested and finally top 5 winners were selected and awarded.
The Dialysis team have been performing consistently on the hand hygiene compliance for last 6 months and they were presented with a trophy for ‘Best Department for Hand Hygiene Compliance’. There were dance performances by the laboratory staff and the housekeeping staff. Finally the program concluded with Mrs Shweta Sawant, Infection Control Nurse, delivering the vote of thanks.
