Critical care training program for nurses
Quality Nursing is the cutting edge of the Health Care industry
today. Nurses being in high demand need to be competent and
benchmark their performance against international standards in
Health Care industry today. Keeping this in mind, the Nursing
Department of Dr. L H Hiranandani Hospital started a Critical
Care Training Program for the Nurses. It is a six weeks training
program which is designed for nurses with diploma or degree in
Nursing with a minimum of 1 year experience in taking care of
patients
The purpose of this course is to develop skills in observation
of patients, interpretation of findings, critical thinking and
the ability to act independently in taking care of patients.
This course focuses on both patient care and technical aspect of
intensive care.
The 1st batch started in August 2006 which consisted of 14
nurses from our hospital as well as nurses from various other
hospitals. Till date we have completed 4 batches and the 5th
batch of training program started off on 17th September 2007 and
will end on 26th October 2007.On the successful completion of
this program, Nurses are able to assume responsibility to
function as an Intensive Care Unit team member and gain the
ability of Critical thinking and act independently in taking
care of patients.
