Introduction

This is the major area of focus in the hospital. All the general surgeons are fully conversant with these procedures. The equipment has been purchased from the leading vendor in Laparoscopes – RICHARD WOLFE

All scopes are available for any form of surgery. High end procedures are performed with the help of the Harmonic scalpel and also procedures with the Argon Plasma Coagulator

Bariatric Surgery is a key focus area and the procedures are performed in line with International Guidelines. This is only possible as the equipment available in the hospital

All forms of rigid and flexible scopes are available at the hospital

 

 

Laparoscopic Surgery

  • Diagnostic laparoscopy, laparoscopic appendicectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy and intra-operative cholangiogram, common bile duct exploration, repair of perforated peptic ulcers

  • Laparoscopic adrenalectomy, fundoplication, colectomy, laparoscopy-assisted oesophagectomy; laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) for morbid obesity

  • Laparoscopic surgery for advanced malignancies, diagnostic and bypass surgery.

Colorectal Surgery

  • Management and staging of colorectal cancer

  • Diagnostic and therapeutic lower GI endoscopy.

  • Management of colorectal polyps

  • Evaluation and management of functional disorders of the colon, rectum and anus; including incontinence especially in the geriatric patients

  • Minimal access colorectal surgery

  • Laparoscopic surgery for advanced malignancies, diagnostic and bypass surgery.

Gastrointestinal Surgery

  • Management of upper gastrointestinal tract disorders, including peptic ulcer and gastro-oesophageal reflux diseases and other motility disorders

  • Surgery for benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum

  • Surgery for morbid obesity

  • Diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy- Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy

  • Laparoscopic surgery for advanced malignancies, diagnostic and bypass surgery.

  • Neurosurgery for trauma and haemorrhagic strokes

  • Ambulatory surgery for excision for skin lumps and anorectal conditions
