The Nursing department in the hospital has a hierarchal system – Director Nursing, Deputy Directors, Nurse Managers, Nurse Executives, Senior Nurses and Staff Nurses.
Each Nurse Manager looks after a particular area as wards, critical care and training. They are basically there to supervise to see that all the patient care areas are managed and run efficiently and the patient gets the best possible care.
This new creation of a cadre of Nurse Managers has improved the quality of patient care in our hospital, by constant training & supervision. Nurse Managers are given ownership of hospital processes and they act as shop floor managers & are given the responsibility & authority to manage their domain. They meet every patient admitted and are involved in continuous training of the nurses. This has evidently improved the output i.e. Patient care and thus the patient satisfaction level.
