About the Department

The Ophthalmology department located in the first floor OPD complex (Room No. 120, 123,124) is well equipped to provide comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages by providing the following facilities:

• Autokerato Refracto Meter and Lenso Meter
  For refraction and dispensing of contact lenses

• Non Contact Tono Meter
  To measure intra-ocular pressure and aids in glaucoma diagnosis

• Humphreys Visual Field analyzer  (Perimeter)
  To assess the deffects in the field of vision & helps in diagnosis of Glaucoma and certain neurological conditions.

• Fundus Camera (Carl Ziess)
  To Perform Fundus Fluorescien Angiography to detect retinal problems in diabetic and hypertensive patients. This equipment is also used for ophthalmic photography.

• Retinal LASER's 
  To treat diabetia, hypertensive retinopathy, age related macular degeneration and certain other retinal conditions.

• YAG LASER
  To clear posterior capsule opacification  which developes after cataract surgery. Also used in the treatment of certain types of glaucoma.

• Ophthalmic Ultra Sound
  A - Scan Biometry - To calculate the power of intra ocular lens implant.
  B - Scan - To detect posterior segment disorders of the eye.

• The department also provides treatment for children- refractive errors, squint and lazy eye

• The spacious, well equipped operating theatre is located in the second floor OT complex.

• The Phacoemulsification machine for cataract surgery and vitreo retinal surgery equipment along with the High End model of Zeiss Operating Microscope is available in the operating room.
